Jan Dismas Zelenka – (1679-1745 – is an exact contemporary of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750). He worked and composed at the Catholic court of Dresden. Out of his religious output, Vaclav Luks has reconstructed this mass ( # 12 out of twenty such works) devoted to Saint Francis Xavier. A glorious work and a glorious interpretation according to almost all of the 10 critics surveyed. The CD was even proclaimed Recording of the year 2016 by the French magazine Diapason in the Baroque vocal repertoire.
